Hampton Bays Fire District Continued Declaration of District Emergency and Order of the
Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hampton Bays Fire District June 3, , 2020

The Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hampton Bays Fire District, located in Hampton Bays, County of Suffolk and State of New York, has kept fully informed of the current public health and safety concerns concerning the pandemic outbreak of the coronavirus ( COVID19) in localities and Counties on Long Island , throughout New York State and the United States and around the world. In a time of an extreme emergency and potential disaster of this magnitude, it is incumbent upon the local, State, national governments, all political subdivisions and municipal based district corporations and political entities of the State , and the governments around the globe and their elected officials, to act decisively, and in an abundance of caution in taking all measures necessary to protect the health, safety and welfare of the members of the Hampton Bays Fire Department and their families, the employees and representatives of the Hampton Bays Fire District and their families, the residents of the Hampton Bays Fire District ( hereinafter also referred to as “ the Hampton Bays Family “) and all other members of the public , the Board of Fire Commissioners have previously taken and continue to take such decisive action, including but not limited to, the approval and continuation of the appropriate Emergency Declaration as hereinafter detailed, the issuance of the appropriate Orders to enforce the Emergency Declaration , and the reserved right to continue the Emergency Declaration , and issue all further
and necessary Orders in furtherance of the Emergency Declaration and in compliance with the Executive Orders of the Governor of the State of New York, and the orders, directives and guidelines of all other applicable authorities. Accordingly, by unanimous decision and Order of the Board of Fire Commissioners , in an abundance of caution, and for the safety of the Hampton Bays Family and all members of the public as hereinbefore described , on March 16,2020 the Board of Fire Commissioners declared a state of emergency and disaster based upon the current and continuing pandemic outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID19) in localities and Counties on Long Island , throughout New York State and the United States and around the world, and on the basis of that declaration, as issued pursuant to the powers and authority granted to the Board of Fire Commissioners by law, and in compliance with the Executive Orders of the Governor of the State of New York, and the orders, directives and guidelines of all other applicable authorities. and declared the aforesaid emergency and disaster, invoking all emergency powers and authority conferred upon permitted to the Board and the Commissioners by law in order to perform and discharge the duties and responsibilities conferred upon it and them by law, and did so and therein, without limitation , to take all steps necessary to obtain and maintain the performance of necessary work by public works, or the purchase of equipment, supplies and materials, all without competitive bidding should that prove necessary , in order to perform their duties , and in addition, closed both Department Firehouses except for emergency responses until further notice subject to special emergency response rules and protocols . In that regard, Members of the Hampton Bays Fire Department responding to an emergency were instructed to remain in the truck bay areas and leave the Firehouse after signing in for the call. The closure included prohibiting use of the gymnasium facility by members, their families and authorized guests. In addition, by Order the Board cancelled all non-essential gatherings scheduled and non-scheduled at both Department Firehouses through at least March 31, 2020 pending further notice. This included, but was not limited to, all training sessions, Department and District meetings and any other meetings, gatherings and events to be held at either Firehouse. The declaration and Order were issued to allow us to clean and keep the Firehouses as clean and sterile as possible for the safety of our responding members and staff and members of the public. The Board further declared that as the situation evolved the Board of Fire Commissioners will keep all updated and will, as deemed necessary, extend the time period of the Orders issued and declared in the notice , declaration and Order of March 16,2020 and therein declared it would issue any further Orders and directive deemed necessary for the public health, safety and welfare which is the paramount concern and objective of all.
Accordingly , at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners, as convened and conducted on April 1, 2020 in accordance with the provisions of the New York State Open Meetings Law, and Executive Order 202.1 issued by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo on March 12, 2020, the Board of Fire Commissioners unanimously approved and Ordered that the terms and provisions of the Emergency Declaration and Order of March 16,2020 shall be and the same were thereby extended through and including April 30,2020 subject to the further notice, declaration and Order of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hampton Bays Fire District, as required or permitted and any further federal, State, or local order and directive that may be promulgated and apply, and by virtue of the additional Executive Orders issued by New York State Governor Andrew Cuomo, including but not limited to Executive Orders 202.3 through 202.11, 202.13, Executive Order 202.14, dated April 7, 2020 extending Executive Orders 202.3 through202.11 and 202.13 through 11:59 pm on April 29, 2020 and Executive Order 202.18 dated April 16, 2020 extending Executive Orders 202.3 through 202.11, and 202.13 and 202.14 from 11:59pm on April 29, 2020 through 11:59 pm on May 15, 2020. Accordingly, in furtherance of the Emergency Declaration issued by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hampton Bays Fire District on March 16, 2020, and continued by the Board on Apri1, 2020 through April 30,
2020, and in compliance with the Executive Orders of the Governor of the State of New York, including but not limited to Executive Orders 202.3 through 202.11, 202.13, Executive Order 202.14, dated April 7, 2020 extending Executive Orders 202.3 through202.11 and 202.13 through 11:59 pm on April 29, 2020 and Executive Order 202.18 dated April 16, 2020 extending Executive Orders 202.3 through 202.11, and 202.13 and 202.14 from 11:59pm on April 29, 2020 through 11:59 pm on May 15, 2020, and the orders, directives and guidelines of all other applicable authorities that it is hereby ordered that the Emergency Declaration of the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hampton Bays Fire District as aforesaid shall be and the same is hereby extended in all respects through and including 11:59 pm on May 15, 2020, and the special emergency response rules and protocols for emergency responses by Members of the Hampton Bays Fire Department , including but not limited to those set forth herein , SHALL LIKEWISE CONTINUE AT LEAST THROUGH 11:59PM ON JUNE 30, 2020 and the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hampton Bays Fire District continues to reserve the right to issue any further Orders and directive deemed necessary for the enforcement of the terms and provisions of the Emergency Declaration , the special emergency response rules and protocols and for the public health, safety and welfare which is the paramount concern and objective to all.
